X-socks seem always to be the right choice ! I wear them at all occasions.
I discovered them when I picked up running again after a number of years. 10-15 years ago I was a decent runner (3.09 in Stockholm Marathon) and now I expected myself to quickly get into the same shape and speed. Of coarse my legs protested, specially my left calf. The, in Sweden well known, running specialist Löplabbet recommended me to try X-socks with compression, which was a real hit !
My first try I made with an x-sock only on the left, hurting, calf, and a normal sock on the other fot. The result was that the x-sock calf stopped hurting. However, the right calf, with normal sock, had started to hurt !
On next try I had x-socks on both legs and no hurting calves !!!
To keep my hard working calves out of trouble I wear my x-socks as often I can, also outside the run track. Even to parties ...
